Schemes for welfare of School Children belonging to BPL and BC(A) families: Monthly Stipend for BC-A Students(WSBCAS)
Overview
About WSBCAS
The Monthly Stipend for BC-A Students falls under the Schemes for welfare of School Children belonging to BPL and BC(A) families, run by the School Education Department of the Government of Haryana. It pays a monthly stipend to school students from Backward Classes (Block A) households who study in the state's government schools.
The stipend reaches students through Direct Benefit Transfer, credited to the student's bank account rather than handed over in cash. The intent is to lower the recurring cost of schooling for BC-A families so that children stay enrolled and keep attending.
Support is meant for students in Classes 1 to 12 who are enrolled in a Haryana Government school and belong to the BC-A category. The stipend rate varies by class.
