About STPMSC
The Schedule Tribe Pre-Metric Scholarship for Class 6 to 8 is a state scholarship the Government of Rajasthan runs through its Education (Elementary and Secondary) Department. Rajasthan began it in 1984 to keep Scheduled Tribe children in school through the middle grades. The benefit is a cash amount paid every month: Rs. 75 for boys and Rs. 125 for girls.
It is meant for Scheduled Tribe students enrolled as regular pupils in classes 6 to 8 at government or government-recognised schools in the state. It is aimed at families that do not pay income tax, and a student already drawing another scholarship or allowance for study from a central, state or public source is not eligible.
Applications go through Rajasthan's single sign-on portal (RajSSO), where the applicant selects a bank account and uploads the required documents, including the family's Jan Aadhaar details. As a direct benefit transfer scheme, it pays the amount straight to that bank account.

Who can apply
Eligibility criteria
| The student should belong to the Scheduled Tribe category. | |
| The student who is studying as a regular student in classes 6 to 8 in schools run by the Central Government, State Government, Municipalities and schools recognized by the Department of Education. | |
| Students whose parents/guardians are not income taxpayers when they are not alive. | |
| The student who is not getting any other type of scholarship or allowance for study from central, state / public sources. | |
| The student who has not failed in the lower class in the last session. If he fails in any year's examination, his scholarship will be stopped, but if he fails in the same class in the next | |
| If he passes the examination, he will be eligible for the scholarship in the new class from the next session. For this, the student will have to apply for a new scholarship again. | |
| Students who are not living in hostels are run or aided by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. |
