Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship For Scheduled Caste Candidates(RGNFSCC)
Overview
About RGNFSCC
The Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) for Scheduled Caste candidates is a research fellowship funded by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. It is administered by the University Grants Commission (UGC), which selects the scholars and releases the awards. The scheme is meant for Scheduled Caste students who move from a Master's degree into full-time research at the M.Phil and Ph.D level.
It helps SC scholars meet the cost of research at UGC-recognised institutions, so that funding is less of a barrier to a doctorate in the sciences, the humanities or the social sciences. The support is a composite fellowship rather than a one-time grant.
If you belong to a Scheduled Caste and are pursuing full-time M.Phil or Ph.D research, you are the intended applicant. On the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment's own list of Scheduled Caste schemes, this research fellowship is carried as the National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students and is administered through the UGC, so current notifications and eligibility conditions appear under that name.
