Overview

About RGSAIP

The Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India, set up to strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions in rural India. Its Internship Program is one component of the revamped RGSA framework running from 2022-23 to 2025-26, and it brings students into the work of local self-government.

RGSA is built around capacity building, developing and strengthening the institutions that run village-level governance. The internship extends that same purpose to students, offering a route into the panchayat system and the day-to-day of grassroots administration.

The program is meant for individual students and is offered at the central level, listed for applicants across all states. Its benefit is recorded as composite, a mix of support rather than a single type. Eligibility, the internship duration and any stipend are set by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, so confirm the current terms in the official scheme details before you apply.
