Mukhyamantri Majadoor Suraksha Yojana(MMSYMP)
Overview
About MMSYMP
Mukhyamantri Majadoor Suraksha Yojana is a labour-welfare scheme of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, administered by the state Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. The official scheme document records it as introduced in 2007 and revised in 2013. It registers rural and agriculture-based workers in the unorganised sector and extends social-security cover to them and their families.
The support is composite rather than a single cash grant. It bundles maternity and paternity assistance, medical cover, marriage assistance for a registered worker's daughter, life and disability insurance through the Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana, and funeral assistance routed through the Gram Panchayat. Several of these components work by linking a registered worker to other state and central schemes rather than paying out on their own.
For a student, the part that matters is the education support. Children of registered beneficiaries can receive scholarships under the departmental schemes for their social category, with added help for children in Classes 9 to 12 whose families are covered by the Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana, and a separate disability scholarship for a registered worker's child with a qualifying disability. The benefit follows the parent's registration as a worker, so it is not open to students at large, and it applies only within Madhya Pradesh.
