About MMVKY
The Mukhya Mantri Vidyarthi Kalyan Yojana is a state scholarship run by the Education Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh. It supports students from low-income households who are bonafide residents of the state and are studying within Himachal Pradesh.
The purpose is to keep school and college students from poorer families in education by covering part of the running cost of study. The benefit is paid as cash, an annual scholarship credited to the student's own bank account.
Eligibility is narrow by design. It is meant for students from IRDP and Below Poverty Line families studying at government or government-aided institutions in Himachal Pradesh, from the school stage through the university level. Girl students draw a higher rate than boys at the same stage. Applications are made online through the state scholarship portal.

- Rates of Scholarship (per annum)
- Class 9th & 10th: Boys: ₹ 300/-, Girls: ₹ 600/-.
- Class 11th & 12th: Boys: ₹ 800/-, Girls: ₹ 800/-.
- College/University (Day Scholar): Boys: ₹ 1,200/-, Girls: ₹ 1,200/-.
- College/University (Hostelers): Boys: ₹ 2,400/-, Girls: ₹ 2,400/-.
