Merit Cum Means Linked Financial Assistance Scheme(MCMLFAS)
Overview
About MCMLFAS
The Merit-cum-Means linked Financial Assistance Scheme is run by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. It is administered by the Delhi Higher Education Aid Trust through the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), GNCTD, which reimburses tuition fees paid by eligible students at Delhi's state universities.
The purpose is to keep access to Delhi's state universities open to students who qualify on merit but face financial constraints, so that caste, creed, economic background or gender does not decide who can enrol. Support takes the form of a cash reimbursement of tuition fees, with the share reimbursed set on a sliding scale according to a student's family income.
It is aimed at students in undergraduate programmes at Delhi's state public universities, or at colleges and institutes affiliated to them. Reimbursement is weighted toward students from economically weaker sections.
