LLB Internship Programme(LLB-IP)
Overview
About LLB-IP
The LLB Internship Programme is offered by the Department of Justice, part of the Union Ministry of Law and Justice. It is a central sector scheme that places law students inside the department for a short, full-time internship, which ordinarily runs for one month.
The purpose is to give young law students a working view of how the Department of Justice operates, through research and referencing tasks across its justice-delivery areas. Those areas include Access to Justice initiatives such as Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu, legal aid and pro bono legal services, along with e-Courts services, Fast Track Special Courts, and the National Mission for Justice Delivery and Legal Reforms.
The programme is meant for individual law students, and only a small number of interns are taken on in each monthly slot. Selected interns are attached to a senior officer of the department, attendance is tracked, and each intern submits a report on the work they carried out.
The benefit is composite: interns receive an honorarium once the internship is completed and a certificate of internship on satisfactory completion. The department states plainly that the internship is neither employment nor an assurance of future employment with it.

Who can apply
Eligibility criteria
| Indian students who have completed | 2nd year of study and have written the examination to enter 3rd year or; |
| Indian students who have completed | studying in the 3rd year of three-year degree course or; |
| Indian students who have completed | the students studying in the 4th year who have written examination to enter 5th year or; |
| Indian students who have completed | studying in the 5th year of five-year degree course. |
Who cannot apply
Exclusions
- The Internship is neither employment nor an assurance of employment with the Department.
- No TA/DA or remuneration other than Honorarium will be paid to the Interns by the Department of Justice.
- Candidates who have completed their internship with Department of Justice during earlier years and earlier Batches will not be considered for internship programme of the Department of Justice for the Current Financial Year.

- Honorarium: The interns may be given an honorarium of ₹ 5,000/- on completion of their internship.- Certificate: On satisfactory completion of the internship, a Certificate of Internship shall be awarded.
