Mass Communication Internship Programme(MCIP)
Overview
About MCIP
The Mass Communication Internship Programme is run by the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, one of the two departments within the Ministry of Jal Shakti. Interns are attached to the department's media and social-media work, giving them a close look at how a central government department handles its communication.
The internship is meant to give young communication professionals hands-on exposure to government media outreach and public-awareness work, much of it tied to water conservation, river rejuvenation and the Ganga clean-up under the department's remit. It runs for six to nine months and is a paid placement: interns receive a fixed monthly honorarium and an internship certificate on completion.
It is aimed at students and recent graduates in mass communication, journalism and related media fields from recognised Indian colleges and universities, with some postgraduate, diploma and MBA (marketing) candidates also considered. Applications are submitted online through the department's portal. Check the current cycle's notice for the exact eligibility conditions, honorarium and closing date before you apply.
