Internship Programme By The Ministry Of External Affairs(IP-MEA)
Overview
About IP-MEA
The Internship Programme is run by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India. It is meant to give interns a working view of how India's foreign policy is shaped and carried out inside the Ministry, and to bring MEA's work closer to a wider set of young people. The programme is organised into two terms in a year, and each internship is short and time-bound rather than a standing role.
Selected interns are attached to the Ministry's work during their term and receive a monthly honorarium. The amount of the honorarium, the number of places on offer and the term dates are set for each cycle and are published on the MEA internship portal.
The programme is open to Indian citizens who hold a graduate degree from a recognised university, and to final-year undergraduate students on courses where an internship is required. Selection uses a quota-cum-weightage system that spreads places across states and union territories to widen participation by domicile and background.
