About HFSHPBOCWWB
The Hostel Facility Scheme is run by the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (HPBOCWWB), the state welfare board for building and construction labour, which sits under the Labour and Employment Department. Registration with the board, and the benefits that follow from it, are handled across the state through the District Labour Welfare Officers.
The scheme is a form of education support. It gives a registered worker an annual amount toward the cost of keeping a child in a hostel while that child studies. It runs alongside the board's wider education assistance, which helps meet schooling costs from the early classes up to higher and professional courses.
It is meant for the children of workers registered with the board who reside in a hostel to pursue their studies. Support is claimed through the same district labour offices that handle registration and the board's other welfare schemes.
