Overview

About HTEVEL

Hands-on Training and Exposure Visits under Experiential Learning is a state-level scheme in Uttarakhand, implemented by the Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC) under the state's Department of Science and Technology. It runs free one-week residential certificate programmes built around practical training and field exposure visits rather than classroom lectures.

The benefit is given in kind. Participants receive the training itself, along with accommodation and meals for the week, which removes the main out-of-pocket cost of attending. The purpose is experiential learning, giving science and technology learners direct practice with tools, techniques and real field settings.

It is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers and faculty from both government and private institutions across Uttarakhand. Applications are forwarded through the applicant's college or university and submitted to USERC through a Google Form, with the residential format meaning participants train and stay on-site for the duration of the programme.

Selection runs on a first-come, first-served basis among eligible applicants. The programmes are held in collaboration with reputed institutions and conducted at venues designated by USERC, so the subjects on offer change from one training cycle to the next.
