About MWSGUK
Maths Wizard & Spelling Genius is a school competition run by the Secondary Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand, under the centrally sponsored Samagra Shiksha programme. Its purpose is to build Class 5 students' interest in Mathematics and English through a graded series of contests rather than a cash grant.
Two contests give the scheme its name, a mathematics round (Maths Wizard) and an English spelling round (Spelling Genius). They run at four levels, school, block, district and state, and first, second and third positions are chosen at each stage. Winners receive rewards rather than a fixed cash amount. The competitions are implemented through the state's Annual Work Plan and Budget under Samagra Shiksha.
The competitions are open only to Class 5 students in government schools in Uttarakhand; pupils in private schools are not covered. There is no online form; entry is offline through the school, and selection follows from performance in the competition itself.

- Under this scheme, to enhance the interest of Class 5 students in Mathematics and English, the Government of India organized the “Maths Wizard” and “Spelling Genius” competitions at the school, block, district, and state levels under AWP-B for the year 2023-24, wherein participating students were encouraged through rewards.
