Overview

About FESG

The Foreign Education Scheme is a Gujarat state programme that helps students from the non-reserved (unreserved) category pay for higher education abroad after Standard 12. It is run by the Gujarat Unreserved Educational and Economical Development Corporation (GUEEDC), and is listed on myScheme.

GUEEDC was set up to support the economically weaker sections of Gujarat's unreserved community through education and economic development. Under this scheme the corporation extends a concessional education loan to help a student meet the cost of studying overseas, covering courses such as MBBS and undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at recognised foreign universities.

The support goes to the individual student. It is meant for Gujarat residents from the unreserved category who have secured admission to a foreign institution and whose family income falls within the limit the scheme sets.
