Overview

About FBAMESSEBC

The Food Bill Assistant for Medical and Engineering Students of SEBC is a Gujarat government scholarship run by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department through its Director, Developing Castes Welfare. It helps students from Socially and Educationally Backward Classes who are studying medical or engineering courses at self-financed colleges and universities in the state.

The benefit is cash assistance set against hostel mess and food bills, credited to the student's own bank account and paid as a monthly amount across the academic year rather than as a single lump sum. A higher monthly rate is set aside for SEBC students who live in a hostel while attending a self-financed medical or engineering college.

To qualify, you must belong to the SEBC category, be a permanent resident of Gujarat, have passed Class 12, and be enrolled in a self-financed medical or engineering programme at a recognised institution, with annual family income within the ceiling the department sets. A student who is already drawing similar mess assistance from another government scheme cannot claim it here.
