About FSMPSCS(MSGS)
The Maharaja Sayajirao Gayakvad Scholarship is a state fellowship for Scheduled Caste students in Gujarat who are enrolled in an M.Phil or Ph.D. programme at a recognised university. It is run by the Directorate of Scheduled Caste Welfare, which works under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat.
The scheme pays a monthly cash fellowship to help research scholars meet their living and study costs while they work towards their degree and thesis. Support runs for a fixed number of months in the year. You apply online through the Digital Gujarat portal.
It is meant for SC students of Gujarat who have secured admission to an M.Phil or Ph.D. course at a recognised university and whose family income falls within the ceiling the department sets. The intent is to ease the cost of research so that more SC scholars can complete advanced study and thesis work.
