Overview

About ETPS

The Educational Travel Promotion Scheme is a Gujarat state scheme run by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat. It funds educational tours within the state for students in government secondary and higher secondary schools, including RMSA and Model or Model Day schools, on the idea that some learning is better done outside the classroom.

Tours are meant to develop a student's personality, sharpen observation, and encourage curiosity to learn things beyond the textbook. The benefit is cash: ₹500 per student per year, allocated to the school to organise a tour within Gujarat.

The scheme is for students enrolled in eligible government secondary and higher secondary schools, but the applicant is the school, not the family. The school submits the tour proposal offline, following the prescribed checklist and attaching resolutions for the plan and five high-resolution photographs of the tour, so families do not apply for it individually.
