Educational Assistance to the Children Studying in 1st to 7th and 8th to 10th Class(EACS1T7A8T10)

The board does not publish an annual opening and closing date for this claim the way an exam body publishes a form window. What it publishes instead is an appointment window and a set of internal cycles.

Because the claim is tied to an academic year and an attendance certificate, the practical timing is set by the school. The certificate cannot be issued until enough of the year has run, and the appointment has to be booked before the window closes.

The qualifying person is the worker, not the student. Registration with the Maharashtra board is what opens the benefit, and the board sets its own bar for that: the worker must be between 18 and 60 years of age and must have worked on building or other construction work for more than 90 days in the last 12 months, in Maharashtra (MBOCWWB worker registration). The board reads "construction work" broadly, and its published list runs past buildings and roads into stone cutting, tile polishing, plumbing, electrical wiring, glass fitting, solar panel installation and the building of public parks.

On the child's side there are two conditions and both are hard. The child must be enrolled in Class 1 to 10, and attendance of 75% or more is compulsory (MBOCWWB welfare schemes). The board also caps the head: everything under its education menu is available only for the first two children of a registered worker.

One question the board's own paperwork leaves open is whether a registered male worker's wife, enrolled at school level herself, can be the beneficiary. Two of the education forms say she can: E04, for degree-course books and material, and E05, for a medical or engineering degree, are both written for the wife or the first two children. The E01 entry beside them is written for the first two children only (MBOCWWB scheme application forms), and the April 2025 disbursement statement describes E01 the same way while naming the spouse under E04 and E05 (MBOCWWB scheme-wise beneficiaries and amount disbursed). Anyone filing on that footing should put the question to the taluka facilitation centre before booking the appointment, not after.

The board publishes no exclusion list against this benefit, so the honest answer is that refusals come from the conditions rather than from a separate bar list. Where an application is rejected, the reason is recorded in the system and the worker is told by SMS (Government resolution on monitoring committees, IWBMS). That resolution states the two grounds on which a claim is turned down: the beneficiary's eligibility is in doubt, or the documents fall short of the board's norms. For this benefit that means attendance under the compulsory 75% mark (MBOCWWB welfare schemes), a third child, or a registration that is not current on the date of the claim.

There is no rolling award to renew. The grant is stated per year, so a child in Class 1 to 10 is a fresh claim each academic year, on a registration that is itself current. The claim form makes that dependency explicit: it asks for the registration date, the renewal date and the claim date in the same block, above the child's details (Class 1 to 10 educational assistance claim form). Renewal has its own online entry point on the board's site, alongside registration and the claim itself (MBOCWWB home), and it runs on the same appointment calendar, so a lapsed card is renewed before that year's claim can be filed rather than alongside it.

Search results for this scheme rarely stop at the Class 1 to 10 row, so it is worth knowing what the adjacent codes actually pay and on what test.

The money is credited to a bank account by direct benefit transfer once the claim is cleared, not handed over at the office (Government resolution on monitoring committees, IWBMS).

The claim form itself asks for a narrower set than the general scheme listing suggests, and it is worth working from the form. It names an attendance certificate at the 75% mark or the previous year's progress report, a bonafide certificate for the current academic year, the Aadhaar card of the member the claim is for, a self declaration, and a ration card (Class 1 to 10 educational assistance claim form).

Two of those five come from the school and are the reason the claim cannot be filed in the first week of an academic year: the attendance certificate, and the bonafide certificate for the current year. The rest of the form captures the child's standard, school name and address, board of education and passing year, and the worker's IFSC code, bank name, branch and account number, so a passbook belongs in the same folder as the board identity card.

Registration comes first and it is a physical step. Applications for registration, renewal and benefits are checked against original documents at the taluka construction worker facilitation centre, where the worker's biometrics and photograph are captured, after which registering officers approve the application (Government resolution on monitoring committees, IWBMS). Registration itself is nearly free: the fee is Rs 1 with an annual subscription of Rs 1, against Form V, a 90 days work certificate, age proof, residence proof, identity proof and three passport photographs (MBOCWWB worker registration).

With the card in hand, the claim itself is filed against a booked appointment. Claims are received on the board's integrated welfare board management system at iwbms.mahabocw.in, and an appointment already fixed can be moved to another date without abandoning the claim (MBOCWWB home). The offline route is the same form in front of the same officer: the registering officer who approves it is a deputy labour commissioner, assistant labour commissioner or government labour officer (Corrigendum to the monitoring committee resolution).

Tracking the claim afterwards happens in three places, and they answer different questions. The board's site carries a worker profile login, which is where the worker's own registration and claim record sits (MBOCWWB home). Payment is a separate lookup: the board publishes a list of beneficiaries with successful transactions, running up to 1st August 2026, which is where a family checks whether the money actually moved (MBOCWWB benefits transferred). A companion list carries the failed transactions to the same date, searched by district, taluka, name, account number and IFSC code, so a family whose claim was cleared can see whether the transfer bounced instead of arriving (MBOCWWB benefit transfer failures). A rejection, by contrast, arrives as an SMS rather than as a silence.

There is no merit list and no ranking. What there is, since a government resolution of September 2025, is a committee that clears applications in batches (MBOCWWB government decisions).

Applications received on the board's system for registration, renewal and money benefits go to a local monitoring committee whose jurisdiction is the assembly constituency and which is chaired by the local MLA. A corrigendum of November 2025 amended that in two respects: where the sitting MLA is himself a minister or minister of state, the chair passes to a person that minister recommends, and the member secretary may be a deputy labour commissioner as well as an assistant labour commissioner or government labour officer (Corrigendum to the monitoring committee resolution). That member secretary, acting as registering officer, does a preliminary scrutiny of the month's applications and puts the list before the committee, which approves it. Where eligibility is doubtful or documents fall short of the norms, the application is rejected with reasons recorded in the system. The worker may then apply to the divisional monitoring committee within 30 days, and the system carries that facility. Once the list is approved and the minutes are filed with the board, the board credits the money by direct benefit transfer, and the committee retains the power to review sanctioned cases (Government resolution on monitoring committees, IWBMS).

Attendance of 75% or more is compulsory, and the benefit is confined to the first two children of the registered worker (MBOCWWB welfare schemes). Payment is by direct benefit transfer into the account named in the claim, which makes the IFSC code and account number as load-bearing as the school certificate. Sanctioned applications are not beyond reach afterwards: the monitoring committee may review approved registration, renewal and benefit cases as required (Government resolution on monitoring committees, IWBMS).

A Class 1 to 10 claim is not settled at the head office. The taluka worker facilitation centre is the working counter, and the board publishes every centre address with the officer in charge, grouped under the divisional labour offices for Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Amravati (MBOCWWB contact).
