Overview

About EATT10T12S

Educational Assistance to the 10th to 12th Students is a cash benefit run by the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (MBOCWWB), a statutory body under the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra. The Board was set up under the Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996, and draws its funds from a 1% cess levied on construction cost under the companion cess Act of the same year.

The scheme puts part of that cess back into the education of workers' families. It gives a fixed cash amount towards schooling for children of registered construction workers who are studying in Class 10, 11 or 12, with the grant conditional on a qualifying mark in the board examinations.

Eligibility runs through the parent, not the student directly: the applicant is a construction worker registered and active with the Board, and the assistance covers their children in the relevant classes. The Board applies limits on how many children per family can claim, and payment depends on submitting the prescribed education form with marksheets and proof of registration. Students whose parents are not registered with MBOCWWB fall outside the scheme.
