About DAMCYSCS
The Dr. Ambedkar Medhavi Chhatravriti Yojna is a state scholarship for Scheduled Caste students in Himachal Pradesh, named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. It is run by the education department of the Himachal Pradesh government, and applications are made through the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in).
The award is merit-linked. Each year the top 1,250 Scheduled Caste students, ranked by their result in the matriculation (Class 10) examination conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala, are selected. Support then runs for two successive years as the student moves into higher classes or a professional or technical course.
The benefit is a direct cash scholarship. To qualify, you have to belong to the Scheduled Caste category as notified by the Himachal Pradesh government and hold a place among that year's top-ranked matriculation candidates, so a spot depends on your standing in the board result rather than on need alone.

Eligibility criteria
| The student should be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh. | |
| The student should belong to Scheduled Caste Category. | |
| The scholarship will be given in case the eligible students take admission to any professional/technical course after Matric in a recognized Institution within or outside the state. | |
| Note 01: The scholarship is limited for a maximum of two successive years after matric. | |
| Note 02: The renewal in 2nd year of the course will be subject to satisfactory performance in 1st year of the course. |
What you get
Award & benefits
- Under this scholarship scheme, an amount of ₹18,000/- will be given to each eligible student per year for two successive years after matric.
