Overview

About BRASSC

The Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Sanskrit Scholarship Scheme is a cash scholarship for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students in Uttarakhand. It is run by the state's Department of Sanskrit Education and is meant for students studying in Sanskrit schools between Class 6 and Class 12.

Sanskrit schooling in the state is managed by the Directorate of Sanskrit Education, which plans, supervises and inspects Sanskrit institutions across Uttarakhand and oversees a network of Sanskrit schools and colleges. This scholarship operates within that Sanskrit-education system.

The purpose is to encourage SC and ST students to stay in Sanskrit education by easing its cost with direct financial support. Eligibility is limited to SC and ST students enrolled in Sanskrit schools within Uttarakhand at the Class 6 to 12 level, and the award amounts are set by the department.
