AICTE- TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY JOINT TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR TEACHERS(TUJTPFT)
Overview
About TUJTPFT
The AICTE-Technical University Joint Training Programs for Teachers is a faculty-development scheme run by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the statutory body for technical education under the Department of Higher Education, together with a partner technical university. Its stated objective is to train faculty members and prepare them to be successful in a knowledge society.
Each programme is a five-day residential training with a minimum of forty participants, and a partner university conducts ten such programmes in a financial year. Every programme covers at least one subject the university teaches, such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics or Chemistry, and sets aside a session on moral values, ethics, behavioural sciences and attitude. Eligibility is open to teachers from AICTE-approved institutions affiliated with the partner university.
The support is delivered as a grant to the host university rather than a direct payment to individual teachers. AICTE and the university share the cost of each programme, with AICTE releasing its share to cover items such as honoraria and travel for resource persons, travel for outstation participants and course material. A test is held at the end of each programme, and certificates are issued jointly by AICTE and the university to those who qualify.
