Overview

About SECSWWHPC1012E

This is a state award scheme run by the Gujarat Safai Kamdar Vikas Nigam (GSKVN), a development corporation under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department of the Government of Gujarat. It recognises the children of sanitation workers who reach the top ranks in the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, across the General and Science streams, with a cash prize and a certificate of appreciation.

GSKVN works on the welfare and rehabilitation of safai kamdar (sanitation workers) and their dependents in Gujarat, and runs loan and financial-assistance programmes from its office at Karmayogi Bhavan in Gandhinagar. This award sits within that wider remit: it is meant to encourage schooling in sanitation-worker families by rewarding strong board results rather than to meet a routine cost of study.

The benefit is paid in cash, alongside the certificate, and is aimed at individual students. It is open to children of sanitation workers in Gujarat who place among the highest ranks in the state board examinations at the Class 10 and Class 12 levels. The exact prize amounts, the rank slabs, and the documents required are set out in the eligibility and application details published on the myScheme portal.
