Rajarshri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship(RCSMMS)
Overview
About RCSMMS
The Rajarshri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship is a Maharashtra state scheme run by the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance. It supports Scheduled Caste students in Class 11 and 12, and selection turns on academic merit at the Class 10 board examination, where a student needs at least 75%.
The scheme is meant to keep meritorious SC students in education through the higher secondary years. The benefit is a stipend of Rs 300 a month, paid for ten months of each academic year, and it is held in addition to central support rather than in place of it, so a student can keep it alongside a Government of India scholarship or freeship. Applications are submitted online through the state's MahaDBT portal, mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in.
