Mukhya Mantri Seekho Kamao Yojana(MMSKY)

MMSKY has no yearly cycle to catch. Establishment registration, candidate registration and training have each been running continuously since the dates below, and firms publish vacancies whenever they need trainees, per the state portal's scheme page. Two clocks still bind a candidate: the 01 July on which age is counted, and the one that starts the moment a firm generates a contract.

That second clock is short. Once an establishment generates a contract, the candidate has seven days from the date of receipt to accept or reject it, and a contract left untouched past that window is rejected automatically, per the candidate application manual.

The eligibility line that quietly rejects people is the date the age is measured on. The band is 18 to 29, and the department computes it as on 01 July of the current year rather than on the day you sit down to register, per the department's FAQ.

Two identity conditions sit ahead of everything else, and neither is a document you can produce on the day. A Samagra ID is mandatory to register, the mobile number and email recorded in Samagra must both be live because every verification code goes there, and Aadhaar e-KYC has to be completed on the Samagra portal beforehand, with status normally taking about 24 hours to update after you do it, per the candidate registration manual. Start that a week before you intend to apply. Nothing about your age is uploaded: once the mobile OTP clears, the portal reads your personal record straight out of Samagra and admits you to registration only if that record puts you inside the age band and shows the e-KYC done, per the same manual.

Qualification decides your money in a way that surprises graduates. The stipend slab is fixed by the minimum educational qualification prescribed for the course, not by the highest degree you hold, per the department's FAQ. A graduate who takes a course whose minimum bar is Class 12 draws the Class 12 rate. Qualification also gates the application itself: where a candidate's education does not match the vacancy, the portal shows the vacancy but blocks the apply button, per the candidate application manual.

No exclusion list is published in this scheme's myScheme record, and the bars that do exist sit scattered across the department's own material rather than collected in one place. The first is about what you are already enrolled in rather than who you are: a Student-Trainee cannot run apprenticeship training under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme and MMSKY On-the-Job Training at the same time, per the department's FAQ.

A second bar points at the firm rather than at the trainee, and it can end a training already under way. The department has notified establishments that where the owner or any of their family members, meaning a husband, wife, son, daughter, brother or sister, is engaged as a student-trainee under MMSKY, the establishment must raise a termination request for those trainees immediately or face blacklisting and legal action, per the MMSKY portal home page. A relative's own business is not a soft way into the scheme.

A third limit is structural rather than written as a disqualification. Once you accept and e-sign one training contract, every other contract you hold is rejected automatically, so there is no way to keep a second offer warm, per the candidate application manual.

Nothing here is renewed, because nothing is granted for a year at a time. The engagement is a single fixed-term training contract, normally of one year and in some courses six or nine months, per the department's FAQ, and the stipend runs only for that prescribed training duration, per the MMSKY portal home page. The published scheme material sets out no extension, no second term and no re-entry route once the contract has run its course.

The stipend is monthly, and the slab follows the course, not the candidate.

Neither party pays that whole figure. The establishment owes a minimum of 25 percent of the fixed stipend and is free to pay more, and the state contributes the remaining 75 percent by Direct Benefit Transfer, per the MMSKY portal home page. What that page also settles is the order, which is where a trainee's month can stall: the firm has to deposit its share into your virtual account first, and only after that does the state release its own.

Both halves then arrive as one credit. Once the establishment has paid in and updated the transaction, the government authority prepares the sanction order and pays the combined amount, its contribution and the firm's together, into the Aadhaar-linked DBT bank account you registered, per the onboarding, attendance and payroll manual. Nothing is credited until a full month of training is behind you, per the state portal's scheme page.

Attendance converts into money at a threshold most trainees never read. A day counts as present only when the recorded hours between check-in and check-out reach seven; below that the day is marked absent, and absent or leave-without-pay days shrink the eligible days the payroll calculates on. The system also caps what the establishment can write off as holiday or weekly off at 11 days in a 31-day month, 10 in a 30-day month and 8 in February, so a thin month cannot be smoothed over on paper. Both rules are set out in the onboarding, attendance and payroll manual.

The non-cash benefit is the certificate. On finishing the training and clearing the prescribed assessment, a trainee receives a State Council for Vocational Training certificate issued through the Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development and Employment Generation Board, per the department's FAQ. The same FAQ is blunt about what the training does not come with: the establishment may hire you afterwards but is under no obligation to, and lodging and meals are voluntary on the firm's part.

Two of the required documents decide whether anything works, and both are about plumbing rather than proof. The bank account you give must be Aadhaar-linked with DBT active, because the stipend is credited to that account and nowhere else. The marksheet you upload for your minimum qualification has to be a PDF of no more than 500KB, so scan it at a low setting before you start. Both conditions come from the candidate registration manual.

Only one marksheet is asked for at this stage, the one for the minimum qualification you are claiming, whether that is Class 12, ITI or a diploma. The rest of your personal details are never typed: the portal pulls them from your Samagra record once the OTP clears, so anything wrong in them has to be fixed on the Samagra portal and cannot be corrected on the MMSKY form itself, per the same manual.

Registering On The Portal

Registration and application are separate stages, and confusing them is the most common reason a candidate believes they have applied when they have not. Registration happens at the MMSKY portal, where you enter your Samagra ID, clear the captcha, and verify an OTP sent to the mobile number registered in Samagra, with WhatsApp available as a delivery option; you then verify an email OTP and submit. Login credentials arrive by SMS and email, and the user ID is normally the Samagra ID itself, per the candidate registration manual. Registering on the portal is free, though a CSC or MP Online counter may charge the service fee the state has fixed, per the department's FAQ. The registration facility is not open round the clock: it runs from 10 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Saturday, per the portal home page.

Then complete the profile, because an incomplete one reaches no employer. Add the minimum qualification with its marksheet, add up to 30 courses you want to train in, and add the locations you are willing to move to along with any work experience and certification. Establishments contact candidates on the basis of those saved courses, and the portal's training suggestions run off the same list, per the candidate registration manual.

Applying To A Vacancy

Log in and open the vacancy search. If you have saved courses of interest, matching vacancies appear there; Advance Search with filters shows everything establishments have published. The vacancy view tells you how many candidates have already applied to that post and lists similar vacancies matched on course, work location and stipend, so you can spread applications instead of stacking them on one crowded post, per the candidate application manual. An application ID appears on submission and the vacancy is then tagged Applied.

Tracking The Application And The Stipend

The portal has a dedicated status view, and it is more informative than the SMS alerts. Open the View Application Status tab, use the three-dot action menu on a row and choose View to see exactly what the establishment did with it: Reject, Shortlist for Interview, or Contract Generate. Shortlisting and interview details are also pushed by SMS, WhatsApp and email, per the candidate application manual.

Once training starts, the thing to track is the payroll rather than the bank. Every month the establishment freezes your attendance annexure, creates and freezes the payroll, pays its share into your Virtual Account Number and forwards the payroll for a Sanction Order that the state and district authorities complete, per the onboarding, attendance and payroll manual. If a credit is late, check your own attendance record in the MMSKY mobile app first, then ask the establishment whether that month's payroll has been frozen and forwarded. The app now runs face authentication for attendance, and a trainee has to register a face before marking any, so a rejected check-in on the shop floor is worth sorting out the same day, per the portal home page.

Nobody publishes a merit list for this scheme, and no cutoff exists to clear. Selection is an employer decision taken on the portal: the establishment reviews an application and either rejects it, shortlists it for interview, or generates a contract, and it can also send a direct invitation to a candidate who never applied, per the candidate application manual.

The government sits at the end of that chain, not the start. A contract the candidate accepts and e-signs with Aadhaar goes to an Approving Authority, and it becomes valid only once that authority also accepts and e-signs it; if the authority rejects it, the contract is void and the candidate cannot take up that course's training, per the candidate application manual.

Supply explains the odds better than any selection rule. A registered establishment may engage student-trainees only up to 15 percent of its total workforce, counting regular and contractual staff, per the MMSKY portal home page, and to be on the portal at all it needs a valid GST registration and a workforce of at least four, per the department's FAQ. Private firms located outside Madhya Pradesh may register too, per the same FAQ, so the vacancy you match may sit in another state.

The department also publishes a live dashboard on the portal, counting registered establishments, registered candidates, candidates who have actually joined training and certificates issued, per the MMSKY portal home page. Read it before you plan a year around this scheme: the distance between candidates registered and candidates joined is the real contest, and registering is the easy half of it.

The contract is tripartite, signed online between the candidate, the establishment and the Government of Madhya Pradesh, per the state portal's scheme page. That is why the Approving Authority's signature is not a formality and why one accepted contract cancels the rest.

Being a Student-Trainee is not employment, and the state says so in the list of reasons it gives firms for joining: EPF, bonus and the Industrial Disputes Act do not apply to a student-trainee, and a student-trainee may not take part in union activity during the training period, per the MMSKY portal home page. No provident fund accrues over the training year and the protections that attach to a workman do not attach here.

Payment of the establishment's share follows rules a trainee should know, because a wrongly routed payment stalls the whole month. The firm pays only into the Student-Trainee's Virtual Account Number while the portal shows it in green, never into a personal bank account and never with a debit or credit card; it must use its own corporate internet banking (NEFT, RTGS or IMPS) or corporate UPI, and it cannot make the payment on the MMSKY portal itself. A virtual account shown in yellow is pending and one shown in red is inactive, and money must not be sent to either. The payroll manual also records a case where the credit shrinks rather than stalls: if the government revokes its own contribution for a month after a complaint against the trainee, only the establishment's share reaches the account, per the onboarding, attendance and payroll manual.

Dormant accounts are cleared out. The department has notified that profiles will be removed from the portal and archived where a candidate registered but never completed the profile, or completed it but never applied to any vacancy, and where an establishment registered but never completed its profile or never posted a vacancy, per the portal home page. A half-finished registration is not a place in a queue.

The scheme is administered by the Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, through the Directorate of Skill Development at the Gas Rahat ITI building on Raisen Road, Govindpura, Bhopal 462023. The portal lists a single helpdesk for both candidates and establishments: 0755-2525258, available 9 AM to 6 PM, and mmsky-mp@mp.gov.in, per the MMSKY portal. Registration problems, OTP failures and Samagra mismatches all go to that desk rather than to the establishment.
