Internship Policy Of Indian Council For Cultural Relations (ICCR)(IPICCR)
Overview
About IPICCR
The Internship Policy of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is a short-term internship programme run by ICCR, an autonomous body under the Ministry of External Affairs. ICCR was founded in 1950 to manage India's cultural relations with other countries, and the internship opens part of that work to students and early researchers.
The programme sits within India's cultural diplomacy, the space ICCR works in. Interns take up research, report-writing and analysis tasks assigned within the organisation. Placements run at the ICCR headquarters in New Delhi and at its regional offices in cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Guwahati. It is a paid internship, carrying a monthly honorarium and, in some cases, limited travel support, and it runs for a fixed, short period rather than a full academic year.
The internship is aimed at Indian students and early-career scholars, drawn largely from the humanities and allied disciplines at recognised Indian universities. Postgraduate and research students, along with those studying foreign languages, are also considered. Age limits, qualifying degrees and the application process are set by ICCR and vary by intake.
