Overview

About DRDSMA

The Dr. Dhyanpal Singh Memorial Award is a state-level scholarship in Uttarakhand for students in the final year of an undergraduate degree. It is offered under the Department of Agriculture, Government of Uttarakhand, and administered by Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) at Pantnagar, in Udham Singh Nagar district. GBPUAT was inaugurated in November 1960 and was the first agricultural university set up in independent India.

The award is a memorial scholarship that gives a cash payment to help a meritorious final-year student meet the cost of finishing the degree. Students apply on a prescribed form, and a committee constituted by the Vice Chancellor reviews the applications and decides who receives it.

It is meant for final-year undergraduates across the university's constituent colleges at Pantnagar. GBPUAT runs nine such colleges, covering fields from agriculture and veterinary science to technology, home science, fisheries and agribusiness management, so eligible students come from a range of undergraduate streams. Selection rests on academic merit.
