About ESSSTJ
The AICTE e-Shodh Sindhu Scheme (eSS) gives eligible technical institutions subscription access to commercial research databases and e-journals that are expensive to buy on their own. It is run by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. The benefit is in kind: the institution, not the individual student, receives the subscriptions.
e-ShodhSindhu was set up in December 2015 by merging three earlier consortia, the UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, N-LIST, and the INDEST-AICTE Consortium. It is administered through the INFLIBNET Centre, an inter-university centre of the University Grants Commission. The AICTE stream carries forward the work of the former INDEST-AICTE consortium for engineering and technical education.
Through the scheme, institutions get access to e-resources such as Web of Science and Scopus. The aim is to give colleges and universities affordable, shared access to costly scholarly content through collective subscription rather than each institution paying alone. Eligibility is set at the institution level for AICTE-approved government and government-aided institutes, so the support reaches you through your college library rather than as a direct payment.

Eligibility criteria
| AICTE approved Government/ Government-aided institutes. | |
| The institute must have a digital library network having internet bandwidth (32 Mbps) and Wi-Fi connectivity with one or more static IP address. | |
| The proposed coordinator must be full-time regular faculty with at least 10 year of experience in teaching and research with publications to his/her credit. The institute should also identify a co-coordinator who must be a faculty with at least 7 year of experience in teaching and research. | |
| The institute must have PG Course in | Mechanical Engineering, if applies for ASME. |
| The institute must have PG Course in | Civil Engineering, if applies for ASCE. |
| The institute must have PG Course in | Pharmacy, if applies for Bentham Science. |
| The institute must have PG Course in | Any discipline, if applies for Web of Science/ Scopus. |
