Overview

About TSNUCY

The Thakur Sen Negi Utkrisht Chatravriti Yojana is a merit scholarship run by the Education Department of the Government of Himachal Pradesh for students from the state's Scheduled Tribe communities. It is a state-level scheme, and the benefit is paid as a direct cash award.

The scholarship goes to a fixed number of the highest-scoring tribal girls and boys who pass the Class 10 matriculation examination and go on to study in Class 11, or in a professional or technical course, at a recognised institution inside or outside the state. Merit is read from the matric result of the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala.

The intent is to help tribal students from Himachal Pradesh continue past Class 10 into senior secondary and professional education. The award runs for two successive years, with the second year subject to the student's performance in the first. Applications are made online through the National Scholarship Portal; there is no offline route.
