Pre Matric Scholarship For Scheduled Tribe Students(PRE-ST)
Overview
About PRE-ST
The Pre Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe Students is a central government scholarship run by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. It supports Scheduled Tribe students at the pre-matric stage, in classes 9 and 10.
The benefit is paid as cash to help ST students meet the costs of schooling during these two years. Applications are handled through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), the Government of India's online platform for centrally funded scholarships.
It is meant for regular, full-time Scheduled Tribe students in classes 9 and 10 who study at a government school, or at a school recognised by the government or by a Central or State board of secondary education. Further eligibility conditions apply, so not every ST student in these classes will qualify.
