CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme For Single Girl Child(MSSSGC)
Overview
About MSSSGC
The CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child is run by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the national school board that operates as an autonomous body under the Union Ministry of Education's Department of School Education and Literacy. It supports girls who are the only child of their parents and who have cleared the CBSE Class 10 board examination on merit.
The scheme is meant to recognise the efforts of parents who educate an only daughter, and to encourage meritorious single girl students to stay in school through Classes 11 and 12. Support reaches the student as a monthly cash scholarship paid across the two years of senior secondary study, with continuation into Class 12 tied to her performance in Class 11.
It is open to single girl children studying Class 11 and 12 in CBSE-affiliated schools, subject to a merit threshold in the Class 10 examination and a limit on the school's monthly tuition fee. Payment is made directly to the student's bank account through electronic transfer, so the money does not pass through the school.
