Overview

About ABSSS

Akhil Bhartiya Sanskrit Shodh Sammelan (ABSSS) is a state scheme in Uttarakhand, run by the Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy at Haridwar under the Department of Sanskrit Education. It backs a Sanskrit conference, or sammelan, that brings together people working in the language so they can present their research.

The scheme is meant for individuals – scholars, professors, lecturers, teachers and research students who work in the study, teaching and research of Sanskrit. Eligible participants submit a research paper on the set subject, and those whose papers clear the evaluation committee are invited to present at the sammelan. The support is paid in cash.

At the sammelan, participants share new work in Sanskrit literature, exchange ideas, learn how research papers are put together, and receive certificates. Applications are handled offline: an applicant completes the Academy's form and emails the paper by the due date, and the invitation to attend follows only once the paper is found eligible.
