Overview
About NIFT
The AICTE-National Initiative for Training of Technical Teachers is part of the National Initiative for Technical Teachers Training (NITTT), a central scheme aimed at the teachers who staff India's technical institutions. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (now the Ministry of Education) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) proposed it jointly, and myScheme records it under the Department of Higher Education at the central level.
AICTE is India's statutory council for technical education. It was founded in 1945 and given statutory status by an Act of Parliament in 1987, and it works under the Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education, setting the norms and standards for technical and management education across the country. NITTT sits within that remit: a structured, national route to prepare technical teachers rather than leaving their training to individual institutions.
The benefit is in kind: eligible teachers receive training, not a cash award. This track is meant for inductee teachers, those newly recruited into technical teaching posts.

Eligibility criteria
| All the teachers working in technical institutions/universities imparting technical education (as defined in Section 2(h) of AICTE Act 1987).1. Programmes should be recognised by AICTE. |
What you get
Award & benefits
- Training: Inductee Teachers will get training in three phases.- Certification: Only after successful completion of all the three phases, a final training completion certificate shall be issued to the Inductee Teacher.
