Skill Development and Training of Candidates in Technical Textiles(SDATOCITT)
Overview
About SDATOCITT
Skill Development and Training of Candidates in Technical Textiles is a training programme run by the Ministry of Textiles under the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM). It is governed by the ministry's General Guidelines for Skill Development and Training of Candidates in Technical Textiles, and its purpose is to build a workforce equipped for the technical textiles industry, which covers engineered fabrics used in areas such as healthcare, agriculture, construction, packaging and protective wear.
NTTM was approved for the period FY 2020-21 to 2023-24 with an outlay of around INR 1,480 crore, and is overseen by a Mission Directorate within the Ministry of Textiles. The mission is organised into four components: research, innovation and development; promotion and market development; export promotion; and education, training and skill development. This scheme sits within the fourth component, which is meant to develop the skilled and technically educated people the sector needs as it grows.
The benefit is composite, combining structured training with skill certification rather than a single cash payment. Courses are aligned to the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) and delivered through empanelled institutions and textile research bodies. The programme is aimed at candidates who want to work in technical textiles, including students, workers and professionals across the value chain; the exact eligibility, course list and support amounts are set out in the ministry's guidelines and the scheme's official listing.
