Short Term Fellowship under the Human Resource Development Programme for Health Research(STFHRDPHR)
Overview
About STFHRDPHR
The Short Term Fellowship under the Human Resource Development Programme for Health Research is run by the Department of Health Research (DHR), part of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It sits within DHR's Human Resource Development scheme, which the department set up to build a pool of trained health research personnel across the country.
The fellowship funds short spells of advanced training so that medical and health researchers can build skills in priority areas such as clinical trials, toxicology, genomics and biotechnology. It runs in two forms, a short-term fellowship at Indian institutes and a short-term fellowship abroad, both meant to give researchers focused exposure to methods and facilities they may not have at their own institution.
Support is composite rather than a single cash award. DHR covers the training placement through a monthly stipend and related grants, so the attachment can be taken up without the researcher bearing its cost.
It is aimed at individual health research professionals at Indian biomedical and medical institutions, including regular faculty and scientists who want to deepen expertise in a defined research area. Whether you qualify turns on your qualifications, length of service and age, so read the detailed criteria closely before you apply.
